Pink Witches was started in 2012 after Meg and Cait Olenowski lost their mom to cancer. It started in a single store in Downtown Denville and now 11 years later the entire community comes out to support! It is truly the can’t miss night of the year! Over the last 11 years the Pink Witches committee has raised over $100,000 for local women going through cancer treatments.
Best known for their annual Breast Cancer Awareness event, Pink Witches Night Out, the Kathy Olenowski Foundation was founded by sisters Meg and Cait Olenowski as a tribute to their mother, Kathy.
In 2011, Kathy, a Denville business owner and true pillar of the community, lost her short but courageous battle with thyroid cancer. She was only 55 years old and left behind a loving family, many friends, and a community that held her in the highest regard.
Meg and her father, John Olenowski, knew Kathy would want them to carry on her legacy of kindness and compassion. Pink Witches Night Out was founded by Kathy’s daughters, Meg and Cait Olenowski. They wanted to create a fun event as a way to honor people we have lost and celebrate those going through the fight.
In 2012, the first Pink Witches Night Out event raised $400 for a local resident who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, this event has evolved into Denville's most highly anticipated night of the year. In 2023, with the support of our amazing sponsors and hard work from our committee, $40,000 was donated to a mother with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
